Chanel Modern Glamour (334) Les 4 Ombres Multi-Effect Quadra Eyeshadow ($62.00 for 0.07 oz.) is a set of smokier shades ranging from white to pewter to cool, matte black. All four shades were blendable and easy to use, though the first shade (the pewter hue) could have been more pigmented in one layer.

Modern Glamour #1 is a medium, greenish-pewter with subtle, warm undertones and a soft, frosted finish. It had medium pigmentation that was buildable to semi-opaque coverage when applied dry, while a wet brush amplified the intensity to more semi-opaque to opaque in one layer. The consistency was silky and finely-milled, which helped the product adhere well and blend out with ease. It wore nicely for seven and a half hours on me before fading visibly.

Modern Glamour #2 is a bright white with a shimmery, almost metallic finish and more neutral undertones. It had nearly opaque pigmentation in one layer, which applied evenly and smoothly to my skin. The eyeshadow had a soft, velvety texture to it that didn’t have any fallout during application but blended out well. I noticed subtle signs of fading after eight hours of wear.

Modern Glamour #3 is a rich, cooler-toned black with a matte finish. It was intensely pigmented with a smooth, velvety texture that was dense, more substantial, but it wasn’t too firmly pressed in the pan. The eyeshadow applied well to bare skin, blended out effortlessly, and lasted well for eight and a half hours on me before fading visibly.

Modern Glamour #4 is a medium-dark gray with neutral-to-warm undertones and cooler, silvery shimmer throughout. It appeared as a metallic silver in the pan, but it swatched and applied much darker as the base pigment came through. The coverage was nearly opaque in a single pass, and it was buildable to full coverage with less than half of a layer on top. The consistency was smooth, velvety, and blendable without being powdery or too firmly pressed in the pan. It wore well for eight hours before showing signs of fading.
