ColourPop Strawberry Shake Palette Makeup Look Ideas (x9)

Colour Pop Strawberry Shake 9-Pan Pressed Powder Palette ($12.00 for 0.36 oz.) is a new palette that features a mix of coral, pink, and red with a smattering of peach hues. It’s a fairly versatile palette, despite living in a more monochromatic theme, as there’s a nice mix of depth and finish.

There are three shades that are “not intended for use in the immediate eye area” and are “Pressed Pigments,” and those shades are: My Milkshake, Take a Sip, and Daiquiri.

About This Series

Each look idea is centered around a “quad” of four shades with the expectation that one might bring in the appropriate brow bone or additional transitional shade based on skin tone. I know that I tend to use more like five or six shades in a typical look, but I think that four is a happy medium to give a good idea of the “core” color scheme of a look while giving you the ability to lighten/darken as desired. I have listed the colors in this order: inner lid, middle of lid, outer lid/crease, and crease/above crease.

You might see combinations that seem slightly repeated but placement will vary (e.g. a halo placement where the lightest and more shimmery shade is placed on the center) as placement can also create a different effect/look! You might also want to consider incorporating your favorite matte/shimmer shades (as applicable) to increase the versatility of certain palettes. Consider these ideas a jumping off point!

Cheer Up MAC Cheer Up Glow Play Blush ($30.00 for 0.25 oz.) is a brighter, light-medium coral with subtle, pink-leaning and moderately warm undertones paired with a satin sheen. There was very faint and fine pearl throughout, so it didn’t have a full-on matte finish but did not appear overly shimmery either. The texture was smooth to the touch and malleable where I could push against the surface and get a lasting indent, but it didn’t have the traditional wetness of a true cream blush.
