Best of ColourPop Lux Liquid Lips (Spring 2020)

ColourPop Lux Liquid Lip ($8.00 each) is described as having “medium buildable coverage” that has a “soft, diffused” effect. It was a better take on their Blotted Lips formula–slightly more flattering, more pigmented, and more comfortable to wear but not as matte (at least not initially). They seemed more pigmented than described as several shades were more semi-opaque or greater, so lighter application would be necessary to achieve true, medium coverage.

They had an airier, lightweight, and thin consistency that was more transfer-resistant than transfer-proof, so they were more comfortable to wear, though it still wasn’t the most consistently flattering finish applied to my lips. The wear time ranged from three to six hours.

Cheer Up MAC Cheer Up Glow Play Blush ($30.00 for 0.25 oz.) is a brighter, light-medium coral with subtle, pink-leaning and moderately warm undertones paired with a satin sheen. There was very faint and fine pearl throughout, so it didn’t have a full-on matte finish but did not appear overly shimmery either. The texture was smooth to the touch and malleable where I could push against the surface and get a lasting indent, but it didn’t have the traditional wetness of a true cream blush. It felt more like powder once it came into contact with my skin, and I didn’t have issues with the product lifting up base products when I patted this over my liquid foundation.
