  • Haul/Rediscoveries: Giorgio Armani Mahogany Lip Maestro (just one new shade I saw!), Tom Ford Destroy Lip Spark (eight new shades, PR sent 7 of 8 shades so I bought the 8th one), MAC Back to Surreality Eyeshadow (was missing this shade from the new Loud & Clear collection), Urban Decay Wired liners
  • Weekend plans: I’m going to take some photos and do swatches of a handful of new products today, and then spend most of the weekend finding and entering dupes to prep posts for next week.
  • Are you big into celebrating holidays?: Not really! We barely celebrate/acknowledge a lot of holidays these days (we’re not fussed over birthdays or anniversaries either), though we have found that it makes a lot of those holidays boring, LOL. With my mother-in-law moving near us this year and my parents moving near us the following year, I expect holidays will be a bigger thing.

MAC Cheer Up Glow Play Blush Review & Swatches

Cheer Up MAC Cheer Up Glow Play Blush ($30.00 for 0.25 oz.) is a brighter, light-medium coral with subtle, pink-leaning and moderately warm undertones paired with a satin sheen. There was very faint and fine pearl throughout, so it didn’t have a full-on matte finish but did not appear overly shimmery either. The texture was smooth to the touch and malleable where I could push against the surface and get a lasting indent, but it didn’t have the traditional wetness of a true cream blush. It felt more like powder once it came into contact with my skin, and I didn’t have issues with the product lifting up base products when I patted this over my liquid foundation. It had semi-opaque, buildable coverage with a fingertip and more semi-sheer, buildable coverage with a brush. It wore well for eight hours before fading visibly. Rose Nu (88) YSL Rose Nu (88) Rouge Volupte Shine Oil-in-Stick ($38.00 for 0.11 oz.) is a medium pink with warm undertones and a natural sheen. The lipstick yielded medium color coverage in a single layer, which applied evenly and didn’t settle into or emphasize my lip lines, despite being a creamier, more emollient formula. It felt lightweight and was comfortable to apply and to wear as it felt like a balm-lipstick hybrid. It lasted well for four hours and was hydrating over time.
