Sydney Grace Eyeshadows Reviews & Swatches (“A Dusty Spring Look”)

Turtledoves

Sydney Grace Turtledoves Pressed Pigment Shadow ($6.00 for 0.06 oz.) is a medium peach with warm undertones and a metallic sheen. It had rich pigmentation in a single layer, which applied evenly to bare skin and diffused well along the edges. The eyeshadow had a smooth, lightly creamy consistency that was dense without being too thick or too stiff in the pan. It wore well for eight hours before fading slightly on me.

Formula Overview

$6.00/0.06 oz. - $100.00 Per Ounce

The shimmer eyeshadows are more consistent in pigmentation with the majority of shades having opaque color coverage. The more metallic/sparkly the shade is, the creamier and more emollient the eyeshadow felt in the pan, which often yielded really smooth application and good adherence to the lid, though a few worked better with a fingertip or a dampened brush for true-to-pan color or to get a truer finish/sheen. Most shades, however, worked well with brushes, and I didn't have trouble applying or blending out most of the shimmer shades. The more satin to pearl like finishes tend to feel a little thinner but blend out well. These shades wore between eight and nine hours on me with some of the more foiled-like shades creasing noticeably at the end (and the less foiled-like ones fading).

Shaley's Shimmer

Sydney Grace Shaley’s Shimmer Pressed Pigment Shadow ($6.00 for 0.06 oz.) is a faded, medium teal with subtle, warmer undertones giving it a green-leaning. The consistency was soft, blendable, and a smidgen dusty in the pan, which helped it spread well across my lid but tended to separate a bit of the shimmer away from when I initially placed it when I blended out the edges. It had nearly opaque color payoff that was buildable to full coverage with a second layer. This shade lasted nicely for eight hours on me.

Totally Worth It

Sydney Grace Totally Worth It Pressed Pigment Shadow ($6.00 for 0.06 oz.) is a light-medium purple with warm, pink undertones and a metallic sheen. It had opaque pigmentation that applied evenly and smoothly to bare skin. The texture was soft, smooth, and lightly creamy without being too dense or too firmly-pressed in the pan. It stayed on beautifully for eight and a half hours before showing signs of fading on me.

Ladylike

Sydney Grace Ladylike Pressed Pigment Shadow ($6.00 for 0.06 oz.) is a medium-dark red with warmer undertones and a lightly sparkling, metallic finish. It had rich color payoff that applied well to bare skin with a smooth, even application, but there was a touch of fallout and some movement of the sparkles when I blended out the product. I’d recommend using pressing/patting motions and doing minimal blending or apply with a dampened brush (or even with an adhesive spray). The texture felt more loosely-pressed in the pan as well. It wore well for eight hours on me and looked slightly faded after that.

Vamped

Sydney Grace Vamped Pressed Pigment Shadow ($6.00 for 0.06 oz.) is a deep red with warm undertones and a pearly sheen. The eyeshadow was richly pigmented with a smooth, lightly creamy consistency that was easy to work with as it wasn’t too dense nor too firmly-pressed in the pan (where it can get harder to pick up product with a brush). It stayed on nicely for eight hours before fading a bit on me.

Formula Overview

$6.00/0.06 oz. - $100.00 Per Ounce

Beyond

Sydney Grace Beyond Matte Shadow ($5.00 for 0.06 oz.) is a deep brown with cool undertones and a matte finish. It had opaque pigmentation with a smooth, velvety consistency that had a smidgen of fallout when applied more heavily. The eyeshadow blended out easily along the edges without turning gray or losing its intensity. It lasted well for eight hours before fading slightly on me.

Formula Overview

$5.00/0.06 oz. - $83.33 Per Ounce

The matte eyeshadows tend to be pigmented (typically semi-opaque or opaque, often buildable if they aren't opaque) with a soft, more velvety texture that has slight slip but isn't so thick that it gets difficult to use, applies unevenly, or has a lot of fallout. I've found that most of the matte eyeshadows apply and blend out without much effort but a few may take a bit more effort to diffuse along the edges. The matte formula tends to wear between eight and eight and a half hours on me.

The color payoff was opaque in a single layer, while the texture was smooth, velvety, and blendable without being too powdery nor too firmly pressed in the pan. The eyeshadow applied well and stayed on nicely for eight hours on my lid.
