Tarte Tarteist Pro Glow & Blush Palette Review & Swatches

Tarteist
Tarte Tarteist Pro Glow & Blush Palette ($45.00 for 1.18 oz.) is a cheek palette that features one highlighter, one bronzer, and four blushes. I quite enjoyed how they applied and lasted throughout the day across the board, though two shades could have been more blendable than they were. The biggest “issue” I had with the palette was the inclusion of both Electric and Amp blushes–they’re just too similar to have in the same palette. I also think that the palette would have benefited from one blush having a more satin-to-pearl (less intense) finish to make it a more well-rounded set of shades.

Hi-Fi
Hi-Fi is a bright, light-medium gold with warm, yellow undertones and a high-shine, metallic finish. The texture was soft, creamy, and denser with a thicker consistency, though it didn’t emphasize my skin’s natural texture until it was more opaque on my skin. It had rich color payoff that lasted nicely for eight and a half hours on me.

Ingredients
Mica, zinc stearate, synthetic fluorphlogopite, ethylhexyl palmitate, pentaerythrityl tetraisostearate, polymethyl methacrylate, caprylyl glycol, ethylhexylglycerin, tocopheryl acetate, sodium dehydroacetate, tin oxide, dimethicone, kaolin, titanium dioxide (CI 77891), iron oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499).

Electric
Electric is a medium-dark pink with subtle, warm undertones and flecks of golden shimmer and micro-sparkle. It had good pigmentation in a single layer, which I was able to build up to full coverage if preferred. While some shades swatched less confidently, this one did take a bit of extra effort to even out and diffuse along the edges compared to most in the palette, though it wasn’t an ordeal by any means. The texture felt slightly drier and chunkier due to the additional sparkle. It wore well for eight and a half hours on me before it faded noticeably.

Tempo
Tempo is an intensely shiny, medium-dark plum with strong, warm undertones and flecks of gold shimmer and sparkle. The blush was incredibly pigmented with a more loosely-pressed consistency that felt surprisingly cream-like without being overly dense/thick. It did emphasize my skin’s natural texture slightly when worn at semi-opaque to opaque coverage, though it was so shiny that it wasn’t as bad in person as it could have been (so shiny that light was reflecting nonstop!). This shade stayed on well for nine hours before it started to fade on me.

Solo
Solo is a light-medium, yellowed brown with a subtle, satiny sheen. It had semi-opaque, buildable pigmentation that adhered fairly evenly to bare skin and blended out without too much trouble, but it wasn’t as effortless as best-in-class bronzing powders (or some of the other shades in the palette). The bronzer lasted well for eight and a half hours on me before fading noticeably.

Beat
Beat is a light-medium, peachy coral with warm undertones and a luminous sheen. It had semi-opaque, buildable color payoff with a soft, smooth texture that felt a touch dusty in the pan. This shade seemed to darken slightly when applied to my cheeks, but it blended out beautifully and yielded such a glowing, luminous finish that didn’t accentuate my skin’s natural texture. It wore well for nine hours before it started to show signs of fading.

Amp
Amp is a bright, medium pink with subtle, warm undertones and a golden, lightly metallic sheen. It had good color coverage, which was buildable to full coverage with two layers. The texture felt a bit denser and firmer in the pan, but in practice, it applied nicely and blended out without issue (I was worried when I initially swatched!). The blush had a glowing finish that didn’t emphasize my skin’s natural texture. It stayed on nicely for nine hours on me before fading slightly.
