Viseart Grande Pro Vol. 3 Pressed Pigment Palette Review & Swatches

Grande Pro Vol. 3

Viseart Grande Pro Vol. 3 Grande Pro Palette ($175.00 for 2.1 oz.) is a limited edition, 30-pan palette that features all matte shades across blues, greens, reds, and yellows. Each column features a particular color family and goes from darker to lighter.

Overall, the products performed similarly to past Viseart matte eyeshadows with most shades applying better and were more blendable in practice than the initial swatches would have indicated. Some shades were more pigmented in practice than initially swatched, too, which is a common characteristic of the Viseart formula.

There were a few shades that took some extra effort to blend out, and some shades did not build up without a primer or had moderate fallout during the building process. The majority of the shades lasted between eight and nine hours on me.

Worth noting, it is a “Pressed Pigment” palette, and the brand doesn’t actually separate out whether any of the shades are actually eyeshadows as the Pressed Pigment delineation is because there are color additives used in, at least some of, the shades that are not approved for use on the immediate area by FDA (but are approved for use on the immediate eye area in the EU). This information did not appear on the packaging or on the palette that I could find, but the palette says Pigment and not eyeshadow.

Afloat (1)

Afloat (1) is a rich, inky blue with strong, cool undertones and a mostly matte finish. It had opaque pigmentation with a fairly soft, smooth consistency that felt drier than the average Viseart matte but was more refined than similarly-hued deeper blues.

The color applied evenly and blended out nicely along the edges. It wore well for nine hours on me before fading noticeably and left a subtle stain behind.

Thunder (2)

Thunder (2) is a deep, purplish-gray with cool undertones and a matte finish. The color coverage was excellent, but the texture was on the more powdery side, so there was fallout during application. I highly recommend picking up the smallest amount and building up. It stayed on well for eight and a half hours before starting to fade on me.

(MAY CONTAIN +/- : TITANIUM DIOXIDE CI 77891, IRON OXIDES CI 77491/77492/77499, YELLOW 5 CI 19140, FERRIC FERROCYANIDE CI 77510, BARIUM SULFATE CI 77120, ULTRAMARINES BLUE CI 77007, RED 7 LAKE CI 15850, RED 28 CI 45410, RED 40 LAKE CI 16035, FD&C BLUE 1 CI 42090, CARMINE CI 75470, BLACK 2 CI 77266, CHROMIUM HYDROXIDE GREEN CI 77289.)

Montane (3)

Montane (3) is a blackened green with subtle, warm undertones and a mostly matte finish. It had opaque color payoff that applied well to bare skin with a smooth, even lay down of product that blended out without difficulty. This shade lasted well for eight and a half hours before I noticed fading.

(MAY CONTAIN +/- : TITANIUM DIOXIDE CI 77891, IRON OXIDES CI 77491/77492/77499, YELLOW 5 CI 19140, FERRIC FERROCYANIDE CI 77510, BARIUM SULFATE CI 77120, ULTRAMARINES BLUE CI 77007, RED 7 LAKE CI 15850, RED 28 CI 45410, RED 40 LAKE CI 16035, FD&C BLUE 1 CI 42090, CARMINE CI 75470, BLACK 2 CI 77266, CHROMIUM HYDROXIDE GREEN CI 77289.)

Chestnut (4)

Chestnut (4) is a deep burgundy with cooler undertones and a matte finish. It had nearly opaque pigmentation that adhered evenly to bare skin and blended out fairly easily along the edges, though the richer, deeper hue made it less effortless compared to Viseart’s best mattes. It wore well for nine hours on me before showing signs of wear, and it left a stain behind upon removal.

TALC, MICA, OCTYLDODECYL STEAROYL STEARATE, ZINC STEARATE, CALCIUM RESINATE. (MAY CONTAIN +/- : TITANIUM DIOXIDE CI 77891, IRON OXIDES CI 77491/77492/77499, YELLOW 5 CI 19140, FERRIC FERROCYANIDE CI 77510, BARIUM SULFATE CI 77120, ULTRAMARINES BLUE CI 77007, RED 7 LAKE CI 15850, RED 28 CI 45410, RED 40 LAKE CI 16035, FD&C BLUE 1 CI 42090, CARMINE CI 75470, BLACK 2 CI 77266, CHROMIUM HYDROXIDE GREEN CI 77289.)

Cider (5)

Cider (5) is a muted, light-medium brown with subtle, warm undertones and a matte finish. The color coverage was nearly opaque in one layer, which was easily built up to full coverage with less than half of a layer. The consistency was soft, lightly powdery in the pan, and went on evenly and blended out well along the edges. It stayed on well for eight and a half hours before I noticed fading.

Ingredients

TALC, MICA, OCTYLDODECYL STEAROYL STEARATE, ZINC STEARATE. (MAY CONTAIN +/- : TITANIUM DIOXIDE CI 77891, IRON OXIDES CI 77491/77492/77499, YELLOW 5 CI 19140, FERRIC FERROCYANIDE CI 77510, BARIUM SULFATE CI 77120, ULTRAMARINES BLUE CI 77007, RED 7 LAKE CI 15850, RED 28 CI 45410, RED 40 LAKE CI 16035, FD&C BLUE 1 CI 42090, CARMINE CI 75470, BLACK 2 CI 77266, CHROMIUM HYDROXIDE GREEN CI 77289.)

Russet (6)

Russet (6) is a light-medium brown with warm, orange undertones and a matte finish. It had nearly opaque pigmentation that applied evenly to bare skin and blended out well. The texture was soft, smooth, and a smidgen powdery in the pan but not prone to fallout. It lasted well for eight hours on me before fading noticeably.

Ingredients

TALC, MICA, OCTYLDODECYL STEAROYL STEARATE, ZINC STEARATE. (MAY CONTAIN +/- : TITANIUM DIOXIDE CI 77891, IRON OXIDES CI 77491/77492/77499, YELLOW 5 CI 19140, FERRIC FERROCYANIDE CI 77510, BARIUM SULFATE CI 77120, ULTRAMARINES BLUE CI 77007, RED 7 LAKE CI 15850, RED 28 CI 45410, RED 40 LAKE CI 16035, FD&C BLUE 1 CI 42090, CARMINE CI 75470, BLACK 2 CI 77266, CHROMIUM HYDROXIDE GREEN CI 77289.)

Ultramarine (7)

Ultramarine (7) is a bright, cobalt blue with strong, cool undertones and a matte finish. It had buildable color payoff from semi-opaque to opaque (two layers). The texture was lightly powdery with a tendency to sheer out a bit during application, but it was blendable and didn’t seem prone to fallout. It wore well for eight and a half hours on me before fading a bit.

Ingredients

TALC, MICA, OCTYLDODECYL STEAROYL STEARATE, ZINC STEARATE. (MAY CONTAIN +/- : TITANIUM DIOXIDE CI 77891, IRON OXIDES CI 77491/77492/77499, YELLOW 5 CI 19140, FERRIC FERROCYANIDE CI 77510, BARIUM SULFATE CI 77120, ULTRAMARINES BLUE CI 77007, RED 7 LAKE CI 15850, RED 28 CI 45410, RED 40 LAKE CI 16035, FD&C BLUE 1 CI 42090, CARMINE CI 75470, BLACK 2 CI 77266, CHROMIUM HYDROXIDE GREEN CI 77289.)

Pacific (8)

Pacific (8) is a rich, deepened teal with cool undertones and a matte finish. The texture felt slightly denser, a touch drier, but substantial and yielded intense color payoff with very little product. The challenge was that it didn’t blend out as effortlessly as most of Viseart’s mattes have for me. It stayed on well for nine hours and left a stain behind upon removal.

Ingredients

MICA, TALC, OCTYLDODECYL STEAROYL STEARATE, ZINC STEARATE. (MAY CONTAIN +/- : TITANIUM DIOXIDE CI 77891, IRON OXIDES CI 77491/77492/77499, YELLOW 5 CI 19140, FERRIC FERROCYANIDE CI 77510, BARIUM SULFATE CI 77120, ULTRAMARINES BLUE CI 77007, RED 7 LAKE CI 15850, RED 28 CI 45410, RED 40 LAKE CI 16035, FD&C BLUE 1 CI 42090, CARMINE CI 75470, BLACK 2 CI 77266, CHROMIUM HYDROXIDE GREEN CI 77289.)

Watermelon (10)

Watermelon (10) is a deeper, slightly muted berry with cool undertones and a matte finish. Pollen (12)

Pollen (12) is a rich, deeper yellow with warm undertones and a matte finish. Cornflower (13)

Cornflower (13) is a muted, medium blue with strong, cool undertones and a matte finish. The texture was moderately powdery with a tendency to sheer out and have some fallout when applied as it was hard to build up without a tackier primer underneath it. It wore well for seven and a half hours on me before fading noticeably from what I could tell.

Ingredients

TALC, MICA, OCTYLDODECYL STEAROYL STEARATE, ZINC STEARATE. Lucky (15)

Lucky (15) is a bright, grass green with subtle, warm undertones and a matte finish. It had medium pigmentation that was buildable to semi-opaque coverage over bare skin and opaque coverage over a primer.
