Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Beauty Exclusives 2019

You can start to preview some of offerings from Nordstrom’s upcoming Anniversary Sale, (here’s the catalog, too, which seemed to be rather light this year!), and I’ve pulled most of the ones revealed below.  Early access to the sale begins July 12th at 12:30PM EST (you must be a cardholder), and then the sale opens to everyone July 19th and ends August 4th.  If you’re unfamiliar with the Anniversary Sale, it’s an event where new products are on sale ahead of the fall season, and many brands create exclusive product offerings for the sale.  In beauty, this often means bundling products together or putting together exclusive sets (like a lipstick set) or palette (MAC usually has quite the number of offerings).

There are also “Glam-Up Days,” which are events in-store that range from gift with purchases to larger sampling programs (like “Scent Sunday” designed to help find a new scent).  I’ll be reaching out to brands directly in hopes of getting more details since the catalog this year is super light on details!

Jackie Aina Anastasia Jackie Aina Eyeshadow Palette ($45.00 for 0.392 oz.) is a new, limited edition palette that features 14 shades across three Pressed Pigments and 11 eyeshadows in various finishes, from matte to pearl to metallic. MAC Cheer Up Glow Play Blush Review & Swatches

Cheer Up MAC Cheer Up Glow Play Blush ($30.00 for 0.25 oz.) is a brighter, light-medium coral with subtle, pink-leaning and moderately warm undertones paired with a satin sheen. There was very faint and fine pearl throughout, so it didn’t have a full-on matte finish but did not appear overly shimmery either. The texture was smooth to the touch and malleable where I could push against the surface and get a lasting indent, but it didn’t have the traditional wetness of a true cream blush. It felt more like powder once it came into contact with my skin, and I didn’t have issues with the product lifting up base products when I patted this over my liquid foundation. It had semi-opaque, buildable coverage with a fingertip and more semi-sheer, buildable coverage with a brush. It wore well for eight hours before fading visibly. Rose Nu (88) YSL Rose Nu (88) Rouge Volupte Shine Oil-in-Stick ($38.00 for 0.11 oz.) is a medium pink with warm undertones and a natural sheen. The lipstick yielded medium color coverage in a single layer, which applied evenly and didn’t settle into or emphasize my lip lines, despite being a creamier, more emollient formula. It felt lightweight and was comfortable to apply and to wear as it felt like a balm-lipstick hybrid. It lasted well for four hours and was hydrating over time.
