Autumn's Reign

Sydney Grace Autumn’s Reign Eyeshadow Palette ($52.00 for 0.95 oz.) is a new, permanent palette featuring a mix of mattes and shimmers across neutrals and various jewel-toned hues. Most of the eyeshadows were opaque, though a few were more semi-opaque (often buildable). The matte eyeshadows having a soft, velvety (lightly dusty to lightly powdery) consistency that applied well and blended out without much work. The shimmers had a creamier, denser consistency, but they weren’t too thick or heavy, so I was able to use them with brushes to achieve rich coverage and smooth application. They lasted between eight and eight and a half hours on me across the board.

Queen of the North

Queen of the North is a pale beige with warmer, yellowish undertones and a matte finish. It had rich pigmentation with a soft, lightly powdery texture that seemed more loosely pressed compared to other shades in the palette. There was a bit of fallout during application if I was not very careful with my placement. It stayed on well for eight hours before it started to fade to my eye.

It had intense pigmentation in one stroke, which applied evenly to bare skin and blended out nicely along the edges without sheering out too readily. The texture was soft without being powdery and was easy to work with. It wore well for eight and a half hours on me before fading a bit.

Brilliant Realm

Brilliant Realm is a deep burgundy with cool undertones and a mostly matte finish. The pigmentation was good and easily built up to full coverage with less than half of a layer on top. The consistency was soft, lightly powdery in the pan, and blendable on my skin. It wore nicely for eight and a half hours on me before fading noticeably.

The matte eyeshadows tend to be pigmented (typically semi-opaque or opaque, often buildable if they aren't opaque) with a soft, more velvety texture that has slight slip but isn't so thick that it gets difficult to use, applies unevenly, or has a lot of fallout. I've found that most of the matte eyeshadows apply and blend out without much effort but a few may take a bit more effort to diffuse along the edges. The matte formula tends to wear between eight and eight and a half hours on me.

Sovereign Rain

Sovereign Rain is a deep purple with warmer undertones and a satiny sheen. The eyeshadow had rich color payoff that adhered evenly to bare skin and blended out easily along the edges. The consistency was lightly creamy, dense and smooth to the touch, but it wasn’t too thick, so it sat well on my lid. It stayed on beautifully for eight and a half hours before creasing faintly.

The more satin to pearl like finishes tend to feel a little thinner but blend out well. These shades wore between eight and nine hours on me with some of the more foiled-like shades creasing noticeably at the end (and the less foiled-like ones fading).

It was intensely pigmented with a smooth, creamy consistency that was denser but not too thick or firmly-pressed in the pan, so it picked up well with a brush. Lavender Extreme Tom Ford Beauty Lavender Extreme Lip Color ($54.00 for 0.1 oz.) is a deeper, lavender purple with warm, pink undertones and cooler pink and iridescent violet pearl throughout. It had more of a lightly glossy, metallic finish with a few larger sparkles. It had medium coverage in one layer, and it was buildable to semi-opaque coverage but was never fully opaque. The consistency was lightweight, emollient with noticeable slip, and comfortable to apply and to wear. It didn’t pull into my lip lines as much as expected, but the product caught slightly on minor imperfections of my lips. It wore well for three and a half hours and was lightly hydrating over time.
