Tom Ford Pretty Baby Eye Color Quad Review & Swatches

Pretty Baby

Tom Ford Beauty Pretty Baby Eye Color Quad ($88.00 for 0.21 oz.) is a new, permanent that includes a rosy plum, lighter purple, copper with duochrome finish (read mostly pink-purple on), and a deep brown. I liked the effect of the shades used together, but I wish the quality was higher across the board. For me, Tom Ford eyeshadows could be more consistent, and I’d expect more given the high price point.

Pretty Baby #1

Pretty Baby #1 is a soft, plummy brown with subtle, warm undertones and a frosted finish. It had medium color coverage, which was buildable, but I had to really layer and press it on to get more opaque coverage. The texture had a lot of slip to it, and my experience with more slippery eyeshadows (that are still powder-based) is that they don’t go on as evenly, which was true here. It wore well for seven and a half hours on me.

Pretty Baby #2

Pretty Baby #2 is a light-medium, dusty purple with subtle, warm undertones and a satin finish. It had opaque pigmentation that applied evenly to bare skin and blended out easily, but it was slightly dusty in the pan, which resulted in slight fallout during application and a tendency to fade a bit in intensity as it sat on my skin. This shade stayed on well for seven and a half hours before fading noticeably.

Pretty Baby #3

Pretty Baby #3 is a bright, rosy copper base with pink-to-blue shifting pearl and larger sparkle. It had good pigmentation both dry and wet, but it was much more metallic and had more noticeable shift from the sparkles when used with a dampened brush. The consistency was smooth, almost a little wet to the touch, and it blended out well without fallout as it seemed the shimmer/sparkle was very flat. It lasted nicely on my lid for eight and a half hours and had just a touch of fallout over time.

Pretty Baby #4

Pretty Baby #4 is a deep brown with subtle, warm undertones and a satin finish. It had opaque color coverage that adhered well to bare skin and blended out fairly well, though it could have been a bit more blendable. The texture was smooth, soft and yielding without being too firmly or too softly pressed in the pan. It wore well for eight hours on me before it started to fade visibly.
