Lisa Eldridge Velvet Decade True Velvet Lipstick Colour ($32.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a muted, medium-dark rosy brown with subtle, warm undertones and a matte finish. It had rich color coverage that applied smoothly and evenly across my lips without tugging or dragging.

The texture was velvety, dense and more silicone-like as it glided over my lips, but it felt incredibly lightweight once on. The finish emphasized my lip lines slightly, and while I saw that there was a touch of product in my deeper lip lines in the close-up photo, it wasn’t enough that I could see it in person. It wore well for six hours and was neither drying nor hydrating over time.

Formula Overview

The formula is supposed to be a "creamy, hydrating matte with a slight sheen" that is "long wearing and non drying." The three shades launched to-date are very pigmented with a lightly creamy, velvety texture that is thicker (but not heavy!) compared to the Insanely Saturated formula but has a similar velvety quality--smooth, glides on but doesn't feel wet or slippery at all.

The colors went on evenly and smoothly and were more flattering on (less prone to emphasizing lip texture or lip lines) than the average matte lipstick. They wear was between five and seven hours well, and they felt neither drying nor hydrating over time. There is no scent or taste to the formula.

Lisa Eldridge Velvet Fawn True Velvet Lipstick Colour ($32.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a muted, peachy beige with warm undertones and a matte finish. It had good pigmentation in a single layer, though it was shy of full opacity. The texture was smooth, velvety, and creamy without being traditionally emollient or wet, yet it glided easily across my lips. It felt very lightweight on; the type of lip product that you might forget you’re even wearing.

There was a slight amount of product that sank into my deeper lip lines, which I could see in person, and as it was less opaque and one of the lighter shades, it was less forgiving of lip texture so you’ll want to exfoliate prior to wearing it. On me, it lasted well for five hours and was neither drying nor hydrating while worn.
