Bobbi Brown Love Letter Crushed Oil-Infused Gloss ($27.00 for 0.2 oz.) is a medium pink with moderate, warm undertones and a high-shine, glossy finish. It had a jelly-cream look and feel to me, as the texture was plush and more gel-like without tackiness. The gloss spread evenly over my lips and delivered a semi-sheer tint, which was as expected. It didn’t smooth out my lip lines, but it didn’t seem like much product was in them either (I couldn’t tell in person). The color stayed on well for four hours and was hydrating over time.

Formula Overview

The formula is supposed to be "ultra-shiny" (it is) with a "cushiony, comfy feel" (nailed it) that has a "burst of color" (sheer to medium coverage) that is "ultra-hydrating." It has more of a smooth, gel-like texture, which is where it gets that "cushiony, comfy feel," and it spread easily over my lips and felt comfortable to wear.

There was a strong shine that lingered for two to three hours during wear with shades lasting, generally, between three and five hours overall (with reduced shine toward the end). Some shades had slight to light product that sank into my lip lines, but the higher-shine finish made that less noticeable in person. The formula felt hydrating over time, and they had a herbal, lemony scent but no discernible taste.

Bobbi Brown New Romantic Crushed Oil-Infused Gloss ($27.00 for 0.2 oz.) is a light-medium pink with muted, moderate warm undertones and a high-shine, glossy finish. It had sheer to semi-sheer color payoff in a single layer, which was in line with the way it was marketed. The texture was lightweight, spreadable, and comfortable to wear as it felt plush and more like a cream-gel hybrid.

There was a touch of product that sank into my lip lines, though, and the lighter, milkier quality of the color emphasized the unevenness of my natural lip color (any visible unevenness is primarily my fault due to the way my actual lips look under a sheerer color like this). It wore nicely for four hours and was moisturizing while worn.

This particular shade was more forgiving of my lip lines and seemed to smooth some of them out. It lasted well for four hours and felt hydrating while worn.
