Blue Beat (327)
Dior Blue Beat (327) High Fidelity Colours & Effects Eyeshadow Palette ($63.00 for 0.24 oz.) is a new, limited edition spring color story that features a very pale, warm pink, brighter pink, and three cooler-toned shades from light blue to blue-teal.
Unfortunately, only the fifth shade in the palette was decent, but decent in the scheme of things is pretty weak these days based on the glut of great eyeshadow that exists at all price points. Dior themselves have done better (see holiday ’19 quints), and the formula has more of the traditional, powder eyeshadow feel than they’ve used in the last few launches, which is a more baked-gelee kind of formula.
These are just dry, dusty, and prone to emphasizing skin texture and made my eyelids look textured. They were prone to sheering out, fading faster than usual, and were all-around a really disappointing journey to take.
Blue Beat #1
Blue Beat #1 is a light-medium pink with subtle, cool undertones and a soft, frosted finish. The texture was soft but drier, dustier, and more prone to sheering out. It looked more satiny when applied as the shimmer seemed to disappear. It had semi-opaque coverage that clung to my skin texture and emphasized it. The color started to show signs of fading after six and a half hours.

Blue Beat #2
Blue Beat #2 is a very light, peachy-pink with strong, warm undertones and a frosted sheen. The consistency was soft, drier, and thin, which I found had a tendency to sheer out the decent (mostly opaque) coverage along with yielding some fallout. I had better luck applying it with a fingertip, but it looked a lot less shimmery once applied to my skin. It lasted well for six hours before fading visibly.

Blue Beat #3
Blue Beat #3 is a pale, silvery blue with cool undertones and a pearly sheen. It had semi-opaque coverage with a soft, slightly drier, dustier consistency that had some fallout during application. The powder didn’t apply as evenly to bare skin as I expected, and it made my brow bone area looked drier than I’ve ever seen it; I felt like the shimmer, despite seeming quite fine, clung to my skin. The eyeshadow stayed on decently for five and a half hours before fading noticeably.

Blue Beat #4
Blue Beat #4 is a minty, aqua green with subtle, cool undertones and a satin finish. It had decent coverage in a single pass, but it didn’t build up (even over primer), and the drier, dustier texture made it difficult to get the color to go on evenly or to blend easily. The powder just emphasized my skin’s texture and really clung to it rather than diffusing and spreading well. There was noticeable fading after five and a half hours of wear.

Blue Beat #5 is a medium-dark, bluish-teal with faint, micro-shimmer over a more matte finish. It had opaque color coverage with a moderately powdery texture that had some fallout, but it didn’t sheer out as much as other shades in the palette. The eyeshadow went on fairly evenly and blended out without too much effort. It lasted well for seven hours before fading noticeably.
