  • Haul/Rediscoveries: A few pieces from Dior’s spring collection (could not wait for press samples, omg!), Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Palette
  • Weekend plans: So far, Mellan has been sleeping through the nights regularly, which is… beyond nice. We’ll be keeping it low-key this weekend, probably trying to get some added work in in preparation for Winter Love Island dropping on Hulu on the 20th! 😂
  • How has your 2020 been going?: It’s been going! Not the worst, not the greatest start to a year I’ve had, but we’re hanging in there. Mellan has a follow-up ultrasound for his liver next week (part of his protocol, generally), so hopefully, we don’t get any added bad news!

Cheer Up MAC Cheer Up Glow Play Blush ($30.00 for 0.25 oz.) is a brighter, light-medium coral with subtle, pink-leaning and moderately warm undertones paired with a satin sheen. There was very faint and fine pearl throughout, so it didn’t have a full-on matte finish but did not appear overly shimmery either. The texture was smooth to the touch and malleable where I could push against the surface and get a lasting indent, but it didn’t have the traditional wetness of a true cream blush. It felt more like powder once it came into contact with my skin, and I didn’t have issues with the product lifting up base products when I patted this over my liquid foundation. It had semi-opaque, buildable coverage with a fingertip and more semi-sheer, buildable coverage with a brush. It wore well for eight hours before fading visibly. The lipstick yielded medium color coverage in a single layer, which applied evenly and didn’t settle into or emphasize my lip lines, despite being a creamier, more emollient formula. It felt lightweight and was comfortable to apply and to wear as it felt like a balm-lipstick hybrid. It lasted well for four hours and was hydrating over time.
