The Real Thing

Colour Pop The Real Thing Super Shock Cheek (Highlighter) ($8.00 for 0.15 oz.) is a medium gold with strong, warm undertones and a shiny, metallic finish. It had a cream-to-powder formula, so it felt emollient, almost wet to the touch, but was very lightweight, thin, and then felt powder-like as soon as it came into contact with my skin.

It had nearly opaque color coverage applied with a fingertip and more buildable, medium coverage when applied with a synthetic stippling brush, which was as expected. The highlighter applied evenly to bare skin as well as over foundation (as it did not lift up my base). It wore well for 10 hours without fading or creasing on me.

Cheer Up MAC Cheer Up Glow Play Blush ($30.00 for 0.25 oz.) is a brighter, light-medium coral with subtle, pink-leaning and moderately warm undertones paired with a satin sheen. There was very faint and fine pearl throughout, so it didn’t have a full-on matte finish but did not appear overly shimmery either. The texture was smooth to the touch and malleable where I could push against the surface and get a lasting indent, but it didn’t have the traditional wetness of a true cream blush. It felt more like powder once it came into contact with my skin, and I didn’t have issues with the product lifting up base products when I patted this over my liquid foundation. It had semi-opaque, buildable coverage with a fingertip and more semi-sheer, buildable coverage with a brush. It wore well for eight hours before fading visibly.
