Butter Me Up
Colour Pop Butter Me Up 12-Pan Pressed Powder Shadow Palette ($18.00 for 0.36 oz.) is a new, limited edition palette that’s available at Ulta. While the color story is new, the majority of shades have been released before, so those with larger ColourPop stashes will want to check for overlap.
The palette contains an assortment of Pressed Shadows (8), Pressed Pigments (3), and Pressed Glitters (2). The latter two formulations are “not intended for use in the immediate eye area.” ColourPop’s Pressed Glitter formula does use plastic glitter.
The Big 3
The Big 3 is a bright, gold-to-green shifting white with cooler undertones and a metallic finish. The consistency was soft, lightly creamy, and a bit more loosely-pressed in the pan, though I didn’t have issues with fallout. The eyeshadow had rich pigmentation in a single layer, which wore well eight and a half hours on me.

Fleet is a rich, deeper fuchsia-red with subtle, cool undertones and violet sheen. It was intensely pigmented with a smooth, slightly denser and more emollient texture. The eyeshadow applied evenly and blended out without difficulty. It stayed on nicely for eight and a half hours before fading visibly.

Silk Street is a muted, medium berry with subtle, cool undertones and a matte finish. It had semi-opaque, buildable color coverage that was fairly blendable but not the easiest shade to work with. The texture was drier, thinner, and had some dustiness to it. The color lasted well for eight and a half hours before I noticed fading.

Overpacked has a translucent base with a mix of pink glitter along with multi-colored glitter, though the pink dominated. The finer particle size works better for spreading and seemed to drive more “coverage,” though this particular version seemed more medium than semi-opaque as I’ve seen. It layered and built up better, though, and it had fairly even distribution. It wore well eight hours with light migration/fallout.

The eyeshadow had opaque color coverage in a single layer, while the texture was soft, blendable, and just a touch powdery in the pan. Island Hopping
Island Hopping includes a mix of finer, iridescent gold glitter and larger, multi-colored small and medium-sized hexagon glitter. The texture felt emollient to the touch, which helped the majority of the glittery pieces to adhere to skin without immediately dispersing. The product had good spreadability so that most of the particles were evenly distributed, except some of the larger hexagon pieces. There was light fallout/migration over an eight-hour period.

Paradiso is a rich, medium-dark berry with cool undertones and a pearly sheen. The eyeshadow had rich color payoff in a single layer, which went on evenly and blended out nicely along the edges. The texture was smooth to the touch but felt more firmly-pressed into the pan than I recall the original pan feeling, though it didn’t inhibit application but needed a slightly heavier hand to pick up initially (but definitely not stiff!). It lasted well for nine hours before fading visibly.

Made to Last is a light-medium, taupe brown with neutral-to-warm undertones and a matte finish. The texture was lightly powdery in the pan, but it had opaque color coverage that adhered evenly to bare skin and wasn’t prone to sheering out. I’d use a lighter hand or gently tap off excess if you’re heavier handed to ensure there’s no fallout. It lasted nicely for eight hours before fading a bit on me.

Night Dream
Night Dream is a deep black with neutral-to-cool undertones and a semi-matte finish; there were faint micro-sparkles strewn throughout. It had a denser, firmer texture that required a heavier hand in order to pick up product efficiently and evenly with a brush. Reckless
Reckless is a medium-dark burgundy with subtle, warm undertones and a matte finish. It was intensely pigmented with a smooth, velvety texture that felt more substantial than most of the brand’s mattes. I’d recommend using a lighter hand with this to avoid a bit of fallout but also to ensure that it remains blendable; going full-on seemed to yield more product than necessary and made the blending a bit more time-consuming. This shade lasted nicely for nine hours before fading a bit.

Formula Overview

The new Pressed Powder Shadow formula is supposed to be “highly pigmented” with an “ultra-velvety and silky” texture that is “long-wearing." The way the Pressed Pigments differ is that they're not intended for usage on the immediate eye area.
The majority of the shades are semi-opaque to opaque in coverage, blend out fairly well, and can sometimes be a bit drier/more powdery compared to typical matte shades. They often wear eight to nine hours on me before fading, but many shades in the Pressed Pigment family leave some staining behind.
