Natasha Denona Glam Mini Eyeshadow Palette Review & Swatches

Glam

Natasha Denona Glam Mini Eyeshadow Palette ($25.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a new, miniature palette featuring three new shades and two existing shades (Golden Flesh and Seed). It’s a short ‘n’ sweet, cohesive palette of more muted, slightly yellower-toned neutrals than really warm, red/orange-toned neutrals, though I wouldn’t classify it as cool-toned. Seed is the closest to cool-toned, but Golden Flesh and Faye are hard to read as anything but warm-toned to my eye. The eyeshadows performed well with excellent pigmentation, blendability, and longevity.

Golden Flesh (68M)

Golden Flesh (68M) is a medium, coppery brown with warm undertones and a bright, metallic finish. It was intensely pigmented with a smooth, lightly creamy consistency that adhered evenly to bare skin and blended out well along the edges. I felt like it was a bit deeper and richer in color than the last version I tested of it (in another five-pan palette). It lasted well for nine hours before fading faintly.

Formula Overview

$29.00/0.08 oz. - $362.50 Per Ounce

The majority of the brand's eyeshadows are quite pigmented, blendable, and long-wearing. The eyeshadows have improved over time, particularly with respect to longevity (without a primer). The original formula often creased on me within seven to eight hours, whereas the more current formula wears eight to nine hours with fading (instead of full-on creasing). The more matte finishes tend to be a bit more velvety, substantial, and less dry/powdery compared to prior iterations.

The metallic finish is often the creamiest, slightly denser in feel, but has excellent pigmentation, adhesion, and blendability. The sparkling shades can have some fallout, depending on how they're applied and how sparkly they are, so they sometimes work better with fingertips or a dampened brush; they can also run sheerer compared to other finishes.

Cream-Powders are the more unique formulation and tend to have firmer, almost stiff, consistencies and more semi-opaque, watercolor-esque coverage. They are longer-wearing, but they can take a few uses to learn how to use. This formula has also improved compared to when it first debuted--it is a bit more yielding now.

Harlow (277CP)

Harlow (277CP) is a very light, yellowed taupe-brown with muted, warm undertones and a matte finish. The eyeshadow had opaque color payoff in a single layer, which applied well to bare skin with a smooth, even lay down of product that diffused easily along the edges. The texture was smooth, velvety, and dense without being too powdery nor too firmly pressed into the pan. It wore well for eight and a half hours before fading slightly.

Anjo (278M)

Anjo (278M) is a muted, medium taupe-brown with subtle, warm undertones and a metallic sheen. It had rich color coverage with a smooth, lightly creamy texture that was dense without being too firmly pressed into the pan nor was it thick on the skin. The eyeshadow applied evenly and blended out with ease. This shade stayed on nicely for nine hours before fading noticeably.

Seed (224CM)

Seed (224CM) is a deep taupe-brown with neutral-to-cool undertones and a matte finish. The eyeshadow had a soft, blendable texture that wasn’t too firmly nor too softly pressed into the pan, so it wasn’t prone to fallout but wasn’t difficult to work with. It had rich pigmentation that lasted well for eight and a half hours before fading a bit.

Ingredients

Synthetic Fluorphlogopite, Zinc Stearate, Dimethicone, Mica, Triethoxycaprylylsilane, Caprylyl Glycol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Hdi/Trimethylol Hexyllactone Crosspolymer, Silica. May Contain: (+/-): Titanium Dioxide (Ci 77891), Iron Oxides (Ci 77491, Ci 77492, Ci 77499), Carmine (Ci 75470).

Faye (279M)

Faye (279M) is a brighter, light-medium peach with strong, warm shimmer and slightly pink-peach tones in its base pigment paired with a metallic finish. The consistency was soft, slightly more loosely-pressed compared to other metallic shades in the pan, but it adhered evenly and sat smoothly on my skin in practice. It had nearly opaque color coverage that wore well for eight and a half hours before fading on me.
